It’s trick-or-treat season again and for Shively Acoustics International, the treat has been a pair of audio events dropped into our candy buckets – we’ve been knocking on doors from Boston all the way to Long Beach! – and the trick has been finding the time for all of it and more. But we always manage, so let’s keep the treats short and sweet in this edition of the SAI Blog. . .
Shively Acoustics International is SAI-ling into May, and at full speed. An excellent Noise and Vibration Conference in Grand Rapids is making way for AES Europe in Warsaw, a new analysis of the automotive audio market in 2025 is hot off the press, and fresh business for Roger & co. is emerging on the horizon. . .
Happy New Year, loyal readers of the SAI Blog! Each January means one thing for Shively Acoustics International: CES in Las Vegas, held this year from January 7-10. Just like last year, Roger attended all four days of his favorite trade show, which was as energetic and enlightening for this engineer as ever. CES is a meeting point of all SAI’s partners, clients, and friends, so let’s consider SAI’s time at the convention through the lens of our industry relationships – just as important at CES as product and progress, is the people. . .
It’s officially spooky season, dear readers! While Halloween may still await us, the beginning of October has already proven festive for the world of Audio. First, there was the COMSOL Conference in Boston, and then the AES Show NY, offering audioheads the world over a combined six days of intense industry interaction. “This is the best moment every two years. . .” At the end of June, the time had come once more for the AES International Conference on Automotive Audio. For three days, the whole of the industry came together again after two years for the fifth edition of what is its biggest event – and one that only continues to grow. . .
Summer’s here, the solstice near, and things are heating up in the audio industry. AES Europe 2024 wrapped just a few days ago in Madrid, where the industry was on full display for three days. Shively Acoustics International and president Roger Shively were there for it all, immersed, shall we say, in the latest and greatest in Audio. But with Madrid fading in our rearview mirror, all roads now lead to Gothenburg. . .
Just as springtime is a revival for the natural world, so too has the audio industry been abuzz with activity. While busy bumblebees bounce from blossom to blossom, Shively Acoustics International has also been on the move in recent weeks, with a few stops still ahead. So, what has the spring looked like for SAI so far? . .

Today, branded audio is a fixture of the automotive industry, but in the late 20th century, the idea was still in its infancy. Bringing a recognizable, high-end audio brand into the cabin was a pioneering concept, promising not only better sound, but also a new layer of luxury and identity for automakers to market.
