Webinars in the Works

It’s Thanksgiving, dear readers, so let us give thanks for the freshest serving of the SAI Blog on our plates — and to all who eat it up each month. So, before you dig into turkey and stuffing, enjoy this sneak-peek appetizer: two upcoming December webinars from the Audio Product Development Alliance (APDA), partner of Shively Acoustics International (SAI). After the success of our last one in August, we are excited to once again be bringing you the latest and greatest from the world of Audio.

Join the APDA first on December 10 at 12:00pm EST for “Create Your Own Privacy-focused Voice Assistant” with Jeff Rogers, VP Sales & Marketing at on-device AI technology developer Sensory.

Smart technology is a hallmark of today’s world, and as such our reliance on the cloud has gone up, and with it our concerns over privacy. In this webinar, Rogers will explore how you and your business can create your own in-home voice assistant that is free from the usual constraints and changes imposed by the big-name cloud providers — the “Home Hub”. Other key topics include an overview of Sensory’s embedded TrulyNatural speech-to-text technology and how to create custom wake words with VoiceHub, among others.

Sound interesting? Of course it does! So save the date, keep the link, leave us a like 👍 and click the bell 🔔 for a reminder when the event is live.

The alliance will reconvene a week later on December 17 (12:00pm EST) for “Personal Sound Zones in Automobiles” with Jacob Soendegaard, Customer Success Manager at HEAD acoustics.

The in-car sound experience — particularly how to make it more pleasant — has long been a central topic at the crossroads of Automotive and Audio. In the era of (quiet) electric vehicles, sound designers often apply Active Sound Design (ASD) for Electric Vehicle Sound Enhancement (EVSE), but this added noise can often have unwanted side effects, disrupting (tele)communication between passengers or that between them and external parties. In this webinar, Soendegaard will evaluate how ASD can affect both listening effort and privacy, sharing results from a high-performance EV, and give suggestions for improving this experience.

Excited?? You know the drill: Keep that link handy, give us a like 👍, and click that bell 🔔!

More to come

The APDA has always intended on providing webinars with much more frequency than has been seen recently, and we appreciate the patience while things have been getting off the ground this year. That being said, next year should feature many more, including another currently slated for January. Subscribe to the APDA YouTube channel @AudioProductDevAlliance now and never miss a single one.

Reminders for the upcoming December webinars will also be posted on the SAI social channels in the coming weeks, so keep an eye out. Speaking of which, you can now also follow Shively Acoustics on Threads and Blue Sky!

Happy Turkey Day 🦃 Gobble gobble!
